"WAGGONER BABY DIES SUDDENLY
Little One 'Grew Cold' While Family Sat at Breakfast
By J. M. T.
Neva Pearl, four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Waggoner, who reside on the Strauss farm on Honey Creek, a short distance south of the city, died suddenly yesterday morning. The family were at breakfast when they noticed that the little one was cold and immediately summoned Dr. F. N. Wells but the child died before he arrived. The child, along with other members of the family, had been suffering from the grip. She had never been strong. She was four years old on January 8th. She was the baby of the family. Deputy Coroner Geo. I. Kendrick went down yesterday forenoon and held an inquest, the jury composed of Will Frazier, Clifford Hanner, Mark Bradburn, Frank Lane, Dr. F. N. Wells and Roy D. Plattner, returning a verdict to the effect that the child had organic heart trouble and died of acute inflammation of the heart caused by the grip. The funeral was held this morning and interment was in the Waggoner cemetery. The four other children in the Waggoner family are sick in bed with the grip and the family is indeed having a hard row to hoe just at the present."
LOCAL MATTER
"A four-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Waggoner, who live on the Strauss farm down on Honey Creek, passed away rather suddenly yesterday morning. The little one had been sick with a bad attack of (grip?) and while the family were at the breakfast table complained of being cold and before a physician could reach the home she passed away. Mr. and Mrs. Waggoner have the sympathy of all in their bereavement."
