"Mrs. Sarah Ann Clendenen, 88, widow of the late Rev. George Clendenen, died at 12:10 p.m. yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert Ogle, 4448 Holston Drive, after a long illness. Her husband was a well known Methodist minister in East Tennessee years ago. Surviving are three sons, John Clendenen, of Friendsville; Dallas Clendenen, of Maryville, and E. C. Clendenen, of Pontiac, Mich., and another daughter, Mrs. W. L. Bales, of Thorn Grove; brother, Mack Reneau, of Jefferson City. There are 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to Brewer's Funeral Home."
