Ruby Rites Held Sunday At Mackville.
Earl Ruby, 65, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 6:30 Friday evening,
May 15, 1959, at his home in Mackville. He previously suffered a seizure and
was hospitalized for a time.
Surviving Mr. Ruby are his widow, Mrs. Euriah Bottoms Ruby; a brother, Dewey
Ruby, Mackville; a sister, Mrs. Willie Hieatt, Louisville, and two nieces.
The funeral was held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Mackville Church of
Christ, the minister, Bro. Frank Mullins, officiating. He was assisted by Rev.
R.M. Gabbert of the Mackville Baptist Church. Burial followed in Peter Cemetery
there.
Pallbearers were Jim Powell, Bryant Darling, Don Rogers, Hirshell Pinkston,
Roy Gabhart and Sam Russell.
Mr. Ruby was prepared at and rested in the Arnold Funeral Home until time for
burial.
Few men in the Mackville community were more widely known or liked than Mr.
Ruby. He had been a carpenter-contractor there many years and few improvements
in that community were made without his assistance. He also was active in church
and civic affairs of his community.
