Don is survived by his wife, Lynda McKinnon Lanham and her 2 children, Karyn Adkins and her husband Tim, their 2 children Grayci and Givyn, Angela Huertas and her fiancé Michael Falcon, their 2 children Sutton and Kellan; his first wife Angela and their 3 children Courtney, Zachary and Abbey and their children.
Born in Limestone, Maine, Don moved to Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas with his parents Donald Kennedy Lanham, Sr. (deceased) and Celesta Cote Lanham, surviving siblings Foster C. Lanham Sr. and spouse Renee Lanham, Lee J. Lanham, Mary Lanham Gabel, Anne Lanham Heinrich and spouse Ben Heinrich, Francesca Lanham Rice and spouse Mark E. Rice, Taylor L. Lanham and Judith Lee Lanham (deceased). 16 nieces and nephews in Texas including Cote, Amber, Adam, F.C., Nate, Joe, Catherine, Stephanie, Chris, Carrie, Hannah, Tom, Mary Helen, Emily, Kelly and Kaitlyn.
Don graduated from Highland Park High School, Dallas, Texas then served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer MP based in Germany during the Vietnam era. After serving his country, he returned to his family in Nocona, Texas and attended Cooke County College, Gainesville, Texas. Don lived in Australia with his first wife and beloved children where he developed and promoted baseball. He worked passionately serving adults with special needs while in Australia.
Don resided with his wife Lynda, in Glen Rose, Texas and managed security with FMC Technologies in Stephenville, Texas. He was a lifetime baseball enthusiast and devoted fan of the Texas Rangers as well as the Dallas Cowboys. They often followed the Rangers to Houston for series with the Astros. Don enjoyed music and tinkered with the banjo. He was skillful with a football and planted many passes with perfection.
Don's laughter and humor were contagious. He was considered a great bloke and would do anything for anyone. His fetching character will be cherished. The world's loss will be Heavens home run.
